Ludogorets Women recorded a historic first victory in their debut campaign in the UEFA Women's Champions League. The "Eaglets" secured an emphatic 3–0 win over KI Klaksvík of the Faroe Islands in a first qualifying round match played in Kosovo.
Ludogorets took the lead in the 22nd minute through Monika Baliova. Shortly before halftime, Mariela Petrova doubled the advantage from the penalty spot, and midway through the second half, Bianka Demirova sealed the 3–0 victory.
"I congratulate the team for the hard work they have put in over the past few weeks, as well as for their excellent performance in the match," said head coach Hristos Dokov.
With the convincing win, the Eaglets secured a place in the next match of the first qualifying round. On July 25, Ludogorets will face hosts Mitrovica at Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina in a match that will determine which team advances to the second qualifying round of the tournament.
If they win again, the Bulgarian champions will face Norwegian champions Brann in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Women's Champions League.
