Ludogorets U13 began their participation in the prestigious youth tournament “Panagiotis Katsouris” in Thessaloniki with a series of dynamic matches and a solid performance in the group stage.
In their opening match, the “Eagles” lost 0:1 to Jagiellonia Białystok (Poland). Despite a good performance, after hitting the crossbar they conceded the decisive goal.
Ludogorets U13 performed excellently in their second match, defeating PAOK II 3:1. Martin Ivanov opened the scoring with a shot from outside the penalty area. After an unusual equalizer following a free kick and deflection, Martin Savchev restored the lead with an individual run through the center. The final 3:1 was completed by Georgi Dushkov with a header after a cross from Kris Teria.
In the third match, the young talents from Razgrad defeated the Athens-based academy Thunderz 1:0. The only goal came early – Kris Tevia crossed from the left, and Daniel Filipov scored with a header.
By the same scoreline, Ludogorets U13 also defeated FC Feyenoord (Netherlands). The win came after a strong run by Martin Ivanov, who won a penalty, which was again converted by Daniel Filipov. Feyenoord is one of the strongest academies in Europe and recorded four wins in the tournament, with their only loss being against Ludogorets U13.
In the final group match, the “Eagles” drew 0:0 against Djurgardens IF (Sweden) – an opponent with a strong reputation, having reached a final against Paris Saint-Germain in another tournament.
In the final standings, Feyenoord finished first with 12 points, followed by Ludogorets U13 with 10. Djurgårdens IF placed third with 8 points, and Jagiellonia fourth with 7. Thunderz followed with 3 points, and PAOK II with 1 point.
