Bad luck continues to haunt Ludogorets. Seven days after Rick Jhonatan suffered a serious injury, new signing Dinis Almeida suffered the same injury. The central defender has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee after an incident at the beginning of the second half of the friendly game withCrvena Zvezda (3:2). Almeida is now in Portugal, where he will be operated on by Prof. Dr. Espregueira Mendes on Monday. The specialist, who is among the best in his field, also operated on Rick Jhonatan a week ago.
"Dinis's injury is the same as Rick Jhonatan's. I believe that his treatment and recovery will go smoothly," commented Dr. Valentin Velikov, the doctor of Ludogorets.
"I haven't had any serious injuries in my career so far, but this happened to me too. I hope everything goes well and I can play football again. Thanks for the support of my family and everyone in Ludogorets," said Dinis Almeida.
