Ludogorets lost the second leg against Ferencváros 0–3 and was eliminated from the Champions League qualifying rounds. After an even match with many chances in front of the home team’s goal, the Bulgarian champions left with a defeat, mainly due to the controversial decisions of the referees, led by Spaniard Hernández Hernández.

Before halftime, a perfectly valid goal by Chochev was disallowed for offside, and in the second half, a clear penalty for a foul on Chochev was not awarded, with the score at 1–0 for Ferencváros.

For the record, Varga scored twice for the hosts, while Szalai added the third goal near the end.

Ludogorets will continue in the Europa League playoff round, where they will face the champions of North Macedonia – Shkëndija Tetovo. The first match will be next week at the “Toše Proeski” Stadium in Skopje.
