Ludogorets’ U18 team will compete in the upcoming season of the UEFA Youth League after winning the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) Cup. The team, coached by Martin Tsirkov, secured their place in the prestigious European tournament by defeating Levski (Sofia) in the final. The young “Eagles” claimed a 2:1 victory in the match played at the “Ivaylo” Stadium in Veliko Tarnovo, which ended in an emotional celebration as “We Are the Champions” played in honor of Ludogorets U18.

The match featured intense action, full of challenges and determination from both sides in their quest for glory. Both teams started motivated and gave their all in pursuit of the trophy. However, the youth team of the reigning Bulgarian champions proved more clinical in converting their chances, scoring twice in the first half—goals that ultimately secured their victory.

The opening goal came from Filip Gigov in the 34th minute, capitalizing on a major defensive error by Levski U18. In the 41st minute, Elisey Sarov doubled the score after a right-wing attack and a low cross from Georgi Penev. The first half ended 2:0 in favor of Ludogorets.

Levski U18’s only goal came in the 57th minute—ironically, also scored by Ludogorets’ Filip Gigov, resulting in an own goal. Despite this, Ludogorets maintained their lead throughout the match and even had opportunities to widen the margin during six minutes of stoppage time, pressing their opponents until the final whistle.

"Congratulations on today’s team victory—we achieved it through collective effort. The boys gave one hundred percent and fought until the end, despite injury issues during the week. Thanks to the entire coaching staff and everyone from the Ludogorets Academy who contributed to this success," said a proud Martin Tsirkov shortly after his team received their gold medals.

This triumph comes just a week after the younger Ludogorets U14 team also lifted the BFU Cup at the same stadium in Veliko Tarnovo.
