The Lithuanian Valdas Dambrauskas is Ludogorets’ new head coach. The 43-year-old professional has been making good impressions with his work in the Lithuanian and Latvian championships. The Ludogorets club management chose him over some other Bulgarian and foreign coaches after extensive negotiation. Dambrauskas has been observed by the club for quite some time because of his successful career. He impressed the club owners with his vision for the team’s development and was trusted with the main role in the future of the team.

Dambrauskas will arrive in Bulgaria with his team – an assistant coach, a conditioning coach, and a video analyst. Stanislav Genchev, Ian Coll, Rafael Ferreira, and Zdravko Zdravkov will remain part of the club. Dambrauskas will be introduced next week in Sofia.

Dambrauskas graduated in England in 2009 with a degree from the London Metropolitan University. He worked for Brantford and a couple of local academies. He was the head coach of the Croatian HNK Gorica before he joined Ludogorets. Prior to that, he won the Latvian championship with RFS. The coach has also been in charge of the Lithuania national football team twice.
