Ludogorets Statement

Dear Ludogorets supporters,

Striker Rwan Cruz was seriously injured during the semifinal match of the SESAME Bulgarian Cup against CSKA. His season is over, and we expect him to rejoin the training process during the pre-season camp. In that situation, there was no yellow card given, not even a foul called. We will not be filing a complaint about this or other situations with the Refereeing Commission, because in recent years we have been met with irony and an arrogant tone whenever we signal that we have been disadvantaged.

However, football people in Bulgaria saw the quality of refereeing from many “promising” referees, as well as from Gero Piskov, whose physical condition would have raised doubts about his ability to manage the match in the event of extra time. This would have further compromised the Refereeing Commission, which had earlier appointed Georgi Davidov as the main referee for the match. There have been complaints against this referee not only from CSKA but also from Ludogorets, dated 3 September 2024. At that time, in a letter to the Refereeing Commission, we categorically stated that we no longer want him to officiate our matches.

This arrogance from the chairman of the Refereeing Commission led to an unprecedented humiliation for a leader – the replacement of the refereeing team. This decision sets off many “bombs” that will explode starting next season.

We are not looking for excuses in the referee for our elimination, and we congratulate CSKA on their deserved qualification for the cup final.

We will play until the end for our honor. Only Ludogorets!!!
