Ludogorets coach Per-Mathias Hogmo revealed his expectations for the second leg against Ferencvaros. He knows what to expect in the return match.
“We have to use our attacking strength and keep possession of the ball. We know there will be moments when we must be very strong in defense. That is certainly a key factor. We always focus on the next match. In life, you have to want to achieve something. We want to play a good match and return home with a good result, of course. When we talk about this stage of the Europa League, we know we must perform very well. There are no big secrets between these two teams. We still have a long way to go, but I believe in our strength in passing and movement with the ball,” said the Norwegian.
“I’m happy that we are in a position where we can qualify for the Europa League Round of 16. In football, there are no guarantees — matches in Europe can sometimes be difficult. We played against a team with a lot of enthusiasm, and now we have another important match. We come here after scoring three goals against Celta, three against PAOK, and two against Ferencváros. We need to do it again tomorrow. The players are hungry; it will be very difficult — we are facing a very good team. We must be prepared,” the coach concluded.
Ludogorets goalkeeper Hendrik Bonmann also spoke at the press conference ahead of the Europa League playoff second leg against Ferencvaros.
“We have to play at our maximum level. We have played four matches at this stadium and we know how difficult it is. I want to give my very best so that we can progress. As always, if we defend well, we will advance because we have a one-goal advantage. Every match is equally important. We must be strong both in attack and in defense,” Hendrik Bonmann began.
“I love this atmosphere — everyone does. Everyone wants to play in this fantastic stadium with amazing fans. This is football, this is what we love. I know things have improved a lot with the new coach over the past three months. It’s good that we won the first match, but there are many things we still need to improve. We want to move forward,” Bonmann added.
