
Ludogorets won three awards in the annual “Footballer of the Year” poll, whose ceremony was held on Sunday evening. Ivaylo Chochev received the award for Best Midfielder in the efbet League. Petar Stanic was chosen as the top foreign player in the league. Chochev was also named the second-best footballer for 2025.
The vote for Ivaylo in the midfielders’ category was overwhelmingly in his favor. The top scorer in the efbet League so far accumulated 54 points. Petar Stanic came second with 20 points, and CSKA’s midfielder James Eto’o placed third.
“Thanks to everyone who voted for me. This award is a responsibility for me,” said Chochev.
Stanic, who was called up for the first time to the Serbia national team, won the foreign player category with 33 points, ahead of Levski’s Maicon with 16 and CSKA’s Leandro Godoy with 14.
“Thank you for the award. It is mainly due to my teammates. I promise we will fight for all trophies until the end of the season and will try to win every match,” shared Stanic.
Ivaylo Chochev finished second in the “Footballer of the Year” category for 2025, collecting 168 points. The winner is Iliya Gruev from Leeds with 184 points. Former Ludogorets player Kiril Despodov came third with 52 points.
