The penalty shootout awarded second place to the youngsters of Ludogorets at the VIVACOM CUP 2023 international tournament. The final match between the Eagles and Crvena Zvezda ended 1:1 in regular time. In the penalty kicks the guests scored four out of four and the players of Razgrad missed twice for the final score of 4:5.

The two teams played the most valuable match in the tournament. In the 6th minute the very strong goalkeeper Alex Panayotov pulled out a ball that flew under the crossbar. In the 17th minute Ludogorets opened the scoring through Yastiyan Georgiev. In the 25th minute a player in green scored own goal and Crvena Zvezda equalized. Four minutes later Nikolay Popov was brought face to face with the guard of the Serbs but he saved.

After the break Cem Andonov broke in from the right in the 40th minute and shot but the ball was knocked out by the goalkeeper. With the assist of Andonov, a defender kicked from the goal line. In the 44th minute Alex Panayotov intervened well after a kick from the edge of the penalty area and in the 64th minute he also saved a penalty called for handball. In the last 70 minutes of regular time Nikolay Popov broke through well and was alone against the goalkeeper but his shot was blocked.
