Kiril Despodov: I am happy to join Ludogorets

Kiril Despodov was officially introduced by the Sports Administration director Georgi Karamandzhukov who personally gave him the #11 shirt and wished him success. Despodov answered some questions afterward.

- What are your first impressions of the club?
- I am happy to be here. The club management was able to attract me and we got along fast.

- What made you decide Ludogorets was the club to join?
- I had other offers but the clubs did not reach a negotiation with Calgary. With Ludogorets, it took a couple of days.

- What is your goal here?
- I will spend a year here. I have a transfer clause as well but the price is steep. I want to play and I will give all I have. I will be surrounded by good players and coaches and I like that.

- Why did this transfer cause a lot of talking by other parties?
- Such situations are common and this one will not be the last, too. I gave my best when I was part of CSKA but players do not have an easy life. We must make the right choices.

- Do you like it here?
- I came on Thursday and I see the high professional level here. The facilities are awesome. I know most players which is a good thing.  

- How do you feel after your Italy and Austria periods?
- I changed a lot. Italians are serious about training. I moved because I wanted to play instead of being a replacement. I think being abroad was something I benefitted from.

- Do you see a difference in the Bulgarian championship?
- There is a lot more competition than before.

- They say that you are a professional but you don’t have moral values? How do you respond to that?
- You know I want to play more than anything. I don’t want to be abroad and I want to develop my career which I will do here. Ludogorets showed respect and I agreed to join because I know how they work here.

- Which players do you know and will you be able to adapt to the style here?
- I know more than half of the players. When it comes to style, I think we will be aligned soon. I want us to win the upcoming Europa League matches.

- Do you have concerns about the Ludogorets vs CSKA match and is it true you hired security guards?
- I don’t have personal security. I am a professional and I don’t want to discuss CSKA. Nobody came to me and asked me if I would like to go back. I did not betray anyone.

- Why did you choose #11?
- I was born on November 11^th, there is no other reason.
