Pavel Vrba: Lokomotiv showed strength in the Supercup match

The head coach of Ludogorets spoke at a press conference prior to the Ludogorets – Lokomotiv match.

The head coach of Ludogorets spoke at a press conference prior to the Ludogorets – Lokomotiv match.

“Some players went to play with their national teams. We had troubles with Terziev but he is now with us. Iliev is also getting back in shape”, said Vrba. “I remember the last match against Lokomotiv, it ended with a 6:1 score. We saw Lokomotiv’s strength in the Supercup game as well. We need to catch up. The competitor had two weeks to prepare. They will have the best composition. We won the last three matches and we are getting better. Needless to say, dropping out of the Champions League was a disappointment. We can now focus on the championship and we have tough games ahead of us. We need to win as many points as possible”, Vrba added as well.

“Our goal is the Europa League group phase. When we see the draw, we will plan ahead. What is important for us is to be part of the groups. We are now actively engaged in the transfer market. Our new players must adapt. They train hard, too. The transfer window closes on October 5th. We can’t have the best composition now: some are injured and others have different issues. We will make a better team with the help of the new players. I have been here for nine months and we already won the ninth title. The team is changing and we have a strong ambition. When it comes to the last Champions League game, we stood against a tough competitor and we had to be more active. Still, we need to enter the Europa League group phase.”, the coach concluded.
