Ludogorets defeated 3:1 the second league team Sportist, thus qualifying for the 1/8-finals of the Bulgarian Cup. The match was Valdas Dambrauskas’ official debut. Sportist was the formal home team, as the club’s stadium was recently flooded.

Sportist almost scored first but Tsekov failed to do what it takes. Tekpetey scored in the 17th minute – the gatekeeper Kunchev had no chance to save. This was his first official goal for the club. Nedyalkov tried to add a second goal but Stoychev intervened. Tsekov sent the ball above the crossbar in the 36th minute. Keseru hit the woodwork a couple of minutes later. Tekpetey tried to score in the 42nd minute but the keeper caught the ball.

В следващата фаза на турнира за Купата на България, "орлите" ще се изправят срещу Царско село.

Sportist evened the score in the 48th minute after Hristov scored with his head. Ludogorets took the lead soon. After Keseru’s attempt to score, he passed to Tekpetey who added a goal. Keseru eventually scored himself, shaping the final 3:1 result. Yankov entered the pitch as a replacement and soon tried to score but he sent the ball above the crossbar. Despodov was not able to score minutes later despite his good position. Pieros Sotiriou played for the first time as a Ludogorets player when he joined his teammates 15 minutes before the end. He even managed to assist Tchibota in his goal attempt.
