Ludogorets completed another strong transfer. After intensive negotiations with the Greek PAOK, the club reached an agreement for the outgoing transfer of Kiril Despodov. The two clubs finalized negotiations on the deal on Sunday, with Despodov traveling to Thessaloniki, where he passed his medical and fitness tests before signing his contract. A number of clubs from different countries showed interest in Kiril but in the end the best offer came from the team from Thessaloniki.

This is Ludogorets' second strong outgoing transfer in this transfer window following the sale of Igor Thiago to Belgian club Club Brugge.

After nearly 3 years at the club since his signing in October 2020 from Italian side Cagliari, initially on loan and then on a permanent transfer, Despodov has made 129 appearances, scored 39 goals and provided 55 assists. His strong performance and leadership qualities earned him the Ludogorets captain's armband and his contribution last season of 19 goals and 22 assists was the basis of the Bulgarian Cup win and Bulgaria's hard-won 12th consecutive championship title, making him a favorite to the fans. Thus, Kiril Despodov ends his stay with the Eagles with 3 championship titles of Bulgaria, 1 Cup of Bulgaria, 2 Super Cups of Bulgaria and 2 "Footballer of the Year" awards in a row.

"I am grateful to Ludogorets for everything we have achieved together in the last three years. I also want to thank the fans for the support they gave me. I wish the club to become a champion again and play strongly in the European tournaments. I will carefully monitor their performance." Despodov said.

Thank you, Kiril Despodov, and we wish you success! We hope to see you back in the green outfit soon.
