Ludogorets signed with a German defender

Ludogorets completed its first summer transfer. The 12-time champions have signed German left-back Marcel Heister. On Monday evening, Ludogorets and MOL Fehervar, where Heister last played, finalized the deal. The defender arrives as a free agent and will not be paid a transfer fee. In the meantime, the German successfully passed the medical examinations and fitness tests, joining the team at the camp in Bansko on Tuesday morning. Heister already had his first training session with the Eagles, after which he was officially introduced by coach Ivaylo Petev.

Heister has had a rich career. In addition to Fehervar, he also played for Hungarian giants Ferencvaros, as well as Israeli Beitar (Jerusalem), Croatian Istra and Zadar and German Hoffenheim. An interesting fact is that with Ferencvaros' team, Marcel faced Ludogorets in 2019, when the two teams met four times - two in the preliminary round of the Champions League and two in Group H of the Europa League. A year later, Ferencvaros entered the groups of the Champions League, and Heister played very strongly against the giants Barcelona and Juventus.
