The champions were the better team as soon as the match began. Sotiriou hit the woodworks minutes after the start. The Austrian team slowly picked up the pace and eventually created an attack, but Baribo sent the ball above the crossbar. Both teams missed the chance to score in the next 10 minutes.Wolfsberger took the lead in the 17th minute after Verdon made a mistake and Baribo scored. The Austrian team added a second goal in the 30th minute when Wisinger scored.

The Eagles returned a goal three minutes later when Many scored. The goal was canceled due to an offside. Ludogorets scored again when Manu was able to outplay Wolfsberger’s gatekeeper. The first half ended with a couple of attacks by Yankov, but no other goals were scored.

Ante Simundza replaced all players prior to the second half. After a near miss, Ludogorets almost evened the score, but a ricochet put an end to Tchibota’s effort. Wolfsberger added a third goal in the 71st minute after Terziev and the gatekeeper Hristov misread the situation.

Despodov and Jonathan applied pressure, and it resulted in a goal for Ludogorets in the 81st minute. A couple of minutes later, The Eagles evened the score a couple of minutes later when Despodov passed the ball to Tchibota and he scored using his left foot, leaving no chance to the keeper.
