Ludogorets missed the chance to defeat Wisla Krakow

Ante Simundza’s first match as Ludogorets’ new head coach ended with a 1:1 draw.

Ante Simundza’s first match as Ludogorets’ new head coach ended with a 1:1 draw. The champions stood against the 13th team in the Polish Superleague – Wisla Krakow. Ludogorets performed well but failed to achieve the desired outcome.

Ikoko tried to score as soon as the match began, but the gatekeeper saved. The Eagles took the lead after Sotiriou received the ball from Jonathan in the 4th minute and scored. The Cyprus scorer and Cauly had their chances to score after that, but both missed. The following situations created by Ludogorets all missed a final touch to be turned into goals.

Wisla almost made the score even when Hansek tried to score but sent the ball out. Tchibota had two chances to add a second goal during the first half, but both failed after the gatekeeper and a Wisla defender cleared the ball both times.

Simundza replaced all 11 players for the second half, and Karnicnik was included as a right defender. Marin tried to add a goal in the 50th minute but hit the woodwork. Tekpetey tried to do the same later, but Wisla’s gatekeeper caught the ball. Tekpetey created another attack next, but the replacement gatekeeper kicked the ball out and saved.

Wisla evened the score in the 79th minute after Zot shot the ball from the penalty zone line and scored. He left no chance for the young keeper Hristov to save. Wisla almost took the lead next when Forbes’s goal attempt ended with him sending the ball above the crossbar. The second part for Ludogorets was not as strong as the first one in terms of performance.
