Interview 21 August 2019

Stoycho Stoev: Maribor’s players are really good and we have two tough games ahead of us

‘I hope that we perform good against Maribor and reach the Europa League groups’, said the Ludogorets coach Stoycho Stoev during a press conference prior to the game against the Slovenian champion.

‘I hope that we perform good against Maribor and reach the Europa League groups’, said the Ludogorets coach Stoycho Stoev during a press conference prior to the game against the Slovenian champion. ‘I wouldn’t say that the Valur and TNS games were less important, but the final is here and the chance to qualify for the Europa Leagues is bigger now. Maribor is a better team than our previous competitors and we need to show class in every possible way. There are some really good players in the other team and the two games we have next will be hard.’

The coach said that the best case scenario will be a devastating win in the first game. ‘Sometimes it happens and other times it doesn’t. We know how important these games are and we are focused on showing what we’ve got in the first game, because this would make it easier for us in the rematch’, said Stoev.

The coach mentioned that all players are in good condition and only some of the players had insignificant complaints. ‘There are no serious injuries and everyone will be available’, Stoev added.
